2019 HRSouthwest Conference Board of Directors


Volunteers must be a member in good standing of any Texas State SHRM Chapter to become a conference volunteer.

Conference Director 

The Conference Director presides over the activities of the HRSouthwest Conference, directors and committees to ensure the accomplishment of conference goals and conference objectives are met They are active promoters of the event throughout the year and continually connect with those in the HR field to build awareness. The conference director serves a one year term as director-elect before becoming conference director and serves a one year term as special services director the following year.

Conference Director-Elect 

The Conference Director Elect supports the conference director as advisor and facilitator of the conference planning process and assists onsite as required. The conference director-elect serves a one year term as conference director following their year as director-elect.

Education Session Director 

The Education Sessions Committee selects the education speakers, develops the conference educational programs, handles all communication between the conference and the speakers before, during and after the event, and coordinates audio-visual requirements and pre-conference workshops.

The On-Site Committee handles onsite registration for all attendees throughout the conference. They manage onsite signage placement and removal, arrange and schedule security for the Marketplace and manage move-in and move-out of suppliers and partners in the Exhibit Hall.

Resource Center Director

The Resource Center Committee selects the books and promotional items available for sale at The HRSouthwest Conference. This committee is also responsible for ordering, inventory and operation of the Resource Center during the conference.

Social Media Director

The Social Media Director is responsible for onsite deployment of planned and adhoc social media efforts. Pre-event assistance with conference awareness and registration messaging.

The Special Event Committee coordinates all food and beverage, entertainment and decor onsite and gathering donations and running the Silent Auction during the conference.

The Student Engagement Committee assures that onsite activities and initiatives are focused on engaging student conference attendees. They are instrumental in helping secure sponsorships for student attendees and help with selecting the Excellence in Education Student Recipients.
